About Us

Tails Of Freedom Rescue Inc. is a non profit, primarily foster based organization located in Winnipeg, MB.
Founded in 2019, Tails of Freedom Rescue Inc. saw an immediate need to save three cats from being euthanized. After rescuing Prince, Cornell, and Elvis, we provided the necessary veterinary care with the help of dedicated volunteers and the donations of many caring people. Since then, we have grown into the organization we are today that has rescued over 2300 animals and counting.
In the summer of 2025, Tails of Freedom Rescue moved into their first official physical location, operating as a small adoptions centre and intake facility.

CHRISTMAS FOR THE KITTIES
Our Santa Paws Giving Tree is up and running at the shelter!

As our regular supporters may know, every year we do Christmas sponsorships for all the animals who will be in our care over our Christmas break (Dec 20th-Jan 3rd) as we believe every fur baby deserves a spoiled Christmas!
This year, because we have a shelter, we have a few new ways to sponsor! 🐾🥰🌲
1) Santa Paws Giving Tree:
Come on down, Unit 16-1421 St James St. pick a kittys tag & go shop off that kitties wish list. Once the gift is returned, it’ll get packaged up and sent over to that kitty for Christmas!
✨ There will be a reveal post on Christmas Day so you can your sponsored kitty with their gifts.
2) Under the Santa Paws Tree:
Don’t feel like shopping? You can pick from a pre made sponsor bundle under the tree! They range from $10-$100. Once the gift is sponsored, it’ll be removed from the tree, tagged & will be sent over to a random kitty in care over Christmas.
✨ There will be a reveal post on Christmas Day so you can see which kitty got that bundle!
3) The usual e-transfer/pay-pal to sponsor and our team goes out and shops.

The amounts are $25, $50, $75, $100. If your sponsor is higher, it’ll likely go to siblings or litters to spoil as many as possible.

4) Pet Valu (Rivergrove, MB) has a tree up with special bundles for our forever fosters! You can head on down in person, or call the store to secure a special gift bundle.

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
Help us find a fur-ever home for the holidays for our animals in care. Between now and December 14th adoptions fees for for all our cats 6 months and older will be $99.00.

Our team wants to send a heartfelt thank you to Central Hydronics Inc. for stopping by the shelter on Monday. They met some of our team, fur babies, and made an incredible donation of $5000.00 to our animals in care and shared many kind words.
The kindness along with a donation such as this makes all the difference and will cover our final spay/neuter clinic of the year which will be about 25 cats.

Good news! We are now collecting aluminum cat food cans & pop cans to raise funds for the fur babies in our care! ❤️
RULES:
🐾 Labels MUST be removed, cans MUST be washed with no food resudue & completely dry before bagged.
🐾 Pop cans must be seperate from cat food cans.
DROP OFF:

Thurs 12-6pm, Fri 1-7pm, Sat 1-6pm
🐾 You can bring them directly to the recycler *Rakowski on Archibald* Just let them know it’s going on the Tails of Freedom Rescue account.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER
There are many things that you can do as a volunteer for Tails of freedom Rescue. Listed are a few of the small tasks required regularly. You can help out whenever you are available. As a volunteer you will be added to our volunteer facebook group and when something is need to be done we will post on that group and if any volunteers are available they can let us know.
- Pick up an animal to take to the vet for a scheduled appointment
- Pick up medication, food, or animal supplies from a destination to drop off at a foster's home
- Become a volunteer home check person to inspect homes for possible fosterers or adopters
